Special Operations & Case Studies
High-complexity logistics challenges solved by SSLC's experienced project team β showcasing unique expertise in handling unconventional, sensitive, and oversized cargoes.
Arrived Chittagong Seaport July 22, 2022 carrying 106 containers + 13,053 packages of bulk cargo (5,000 Tonnes) for the RNPP. SSLC coordinated vessel declaration, import tax exemption, 24/7 loading, warehousing, and 350 vehicle deliveries to the jobsite.
Arrived Mongla Port February 21, 2023 from St. Petersburg, Russia. SSLC coordinated heavy cargo lashing on barges (welded to deck for stability), barge voyage to Rooppur, and final unloading with crane operations at the NPP site.
October 2020 β SSLC delivered the VVER-1200 reactor pressure vessel and steam generator (core components of RNPP Unit 1) to the construction site. Bangladesh joined the World Nuclear Association upon completion of this historic first delivery.
July 2020 β Transported the LHM 800 Mobile Harbour Crane (world's most powerful of its kind, 445+ Tonnes total) via barge from Mongla Port to RNPP. Ballast tanks were adjusted, National Defence security provided, and a 600-Tonne crane used for final placement.
January 2022 β Handled a gearless break-bulk vessel (normally prohibited from Chittagong Seaport Jetty) carrying defense cargo returned from UN peacekeeping missions β Jeeps, Cranes, Excavators, Bulldozers β belonging to Bangladesh Army, Police and Air Force. SSLC secured the unprecedented berthing permission.
February 2022 β Airport authorities refused an AirBridgeCargo consignment containing a 40-ft pipe (standard GSE maximum: 20 ft). SSLC negotiated with CAAB and the GSE Department, assumed full liability, and used two High Loaders simultaneously to safely discharge 113,237 KGS of cargo from the aircraft.
October 2021 β FESCO ULISS arrived at Chittagong with 9,680 Tonnes of steel structures across 2,390 packages for RNPP. Cargo was split between barge (heavy/ODC packages) and road transport, with a second port call at Mongla for remaining packages.
October 2023 β MV Syros Island arrived at Kutubdia, Chittagong. SSLC managed custom clearance (78 permissions + direct delivery permission), transferred cargo via lighter vessels to 8 jetties nationwide, then packed, stitched, weighed and trucked MOP fertilizer to BADC warehouses across Bangladesh.
